IHA's Swinging for Scholars, a scholarship fundraising event for the Iowa Hospital Education and Research Foundation (IHERF) scholarship fund, has been rescheduled from Thursday, July 9 to Tuesday, Sept. 15, at the Tournament Club of Iowa in Polk City. Each year, approximately 170 CEOs, trustees and senior staff from hospitals and health systems statewide attend this popular event.
Swinging for Scholars serves as a key component in fundraising for the IHA-affiliated IHERF Health Care Careers Scholarship Fund. Each scholarship award requires a year of work commitment for each year of the scholarship award. The awards are made in each of the five IHA districts to ensure maximum effectiveness statewide.
Swinging for Scholars features a morning educational program, luncheon, golf and dinner for CEOs, trustees, and senior staff from hospitals and health systems statewide in a casual atmosphere.
Registration information will be made available in the coming months. Interested in being a Swinging for Scholars Sponsor? Click here to request information.
“My dream after finishing my RN program was to work in a large, esteemed hospital after graduation, and I feel that this scholarship helped me achieve that and allowed me opportunities I otherwise may not have had.”
