IHA’s Swinging for Scholars, a scholarship fundraising event for the Iowa Hospital Education and Research Foundation (IHERF) Each year, approximately 170 CEOs, trustees and senior staff from hospitals and health systems statewide attend this popular golf event.
The Iowa Hospital Education and Research Foundation (IHERF) provides 60 scholarships at $3,000 each, supporting higher education for more than 700 Iowa college students.
Swinging for Scholars serves as a key component in fundraising for the IHA-affiliated IHERF Health Care Careers Scholarship Fund. Each scholarship award requires a year of work commitment for each year of the scholarship award. The awards are made in each of the five IHA districts to ensure maximum effectiveness statewide.
